About Me

My name is Yanitsa K. and I am a Birth and Postpartum Doula! I am a mother of two boys and have a wonderful husband. I am very passionate about supporting expecting and new Mothers and families because I see this as one of the most important (and under-supported) times for the families.

Is very important to me to keep my work as a Doula evidence-based. I want to offer you information and sources that are based on research. It is also important to me that I can provide you with support in a way that builds your confidence in your own decisions as a parent, and that when my time with your family is done that you feel self-empowered and knowledgeable as you move forward on your parenting journey.

I do this work because I am passionate about maternal and family wellness in this time when we can feel overwhelmed by conflicting information, feel judged for our choices, feel isolated from others and our prior selves, and when postpartum mood disorders are on the rise. I truly work with the goal of happier, healthier Mothers, babies and families. I would love to meet you and see how we could work together to best serve your family.

I am open to trying anecdotal and trending practices as long as you feel comfortable with it. Finished vaginal steaming education by Peristeam Institute for Peristeam Facilitator for labor and postpartum. And it comes to my mind that it could be used as a supportive care to women's health along with my evidence based childbirth education by Lamaze international. I trained as a Birth Doula with DONA in 2019 and eventually pursued training as a Postpartum Doula with Newmother Collective in 2020.I follow a Code of Ethics and a Standard of practice by DONA International and The Bulgarian Doula Association. I also pursued training in Rebozo practices and Bengkung belly binding. I am open to meet your needs. I am here for you!

Childbirth is a transformational journey. Beautiful, yet intense. Exciting yet uncertain. It is a time of many different emotions. This is why in many cultures around the world, a pregnant woman will always have somebody of trust to count on. Sometimes family, but usually a dedicated professional with birthing wisdom to share. A doula.

The presence of a trusted doula is much sought after by birthing families. To not only support them through the intense moments but to be there for them from conception to postpartum. Creating a safe and trusting environment, being of service should anything be of need.

Positive childbirth is about you feeling respected, informed and supported, the most rewarding thing I ever hear as a doula is “I felt powerful!”

I understand that hiring someone to work with your family could be a deeply personal process, so I encourage you to contact me with your concerns. Furthermore, I offer complimentary consultation to all prospective clients, where we could meet and discuss your needs and goals.

Shortly my support services are:

Initial Consultation: The first time we meet I will enlighten the role and the services of the doula. This meeting gives you the opportunity to sense if you feel comfortable with me and if you are sure of hiring me.

Prenatal meetings: In the prenatal meetings we discuss your visions of birth, your concerns. I also teach you and your partner different comfort measures.

On Call: I am available by phone 24/7 starting two weeks prior to your due date until birth

Labor Support: As a professional birth doula I commit my services only for births, attended by medical caregivers. In Bulgaria this excludes home births. During your hospital birth I'll support you in your choices.

Postpartum Support: After birth I will stay with you 1-2 hours to ensure that breastfeeding is established and will follow up by phone. Few weeks after birth we can meet again to go over your birth experience.

As a postpartum doula I can support you during the first 6 weeks after birth. To learn more about my postpartum packages, just look into the section "Services". If you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask.
